Twinkle and her litter brother Wenceslas came to join me in Spring 2002 - and unbeknown to me at the time, this was the beginning of Forestdancer Norwegian Forest Cats! Their breeder, Carole Smith of Scarborough , suggested to me that as Twinkle was an excellent example of the breed she would be worth breeding from if I liked. This hadn't been my intention at all; my only wish had been to have a companion cat. But the idea appealed, and after a couple of cat shows I could see that Carole was correct in her estimation of Twinkle's outstanding qualities. She has excellent size and boning for a female, and outshines many males in this respect. She also has a beautiful head, profile and chin, and a very calm, feminine temperament.
Twinkle is so-named because she prances around on twinkletoes like
a ballerina! She is elegant as well as being large and strong. She
had her first litter in 2003, including Figaro and Fonteyn ("Twinklet")
who have both stayed here.
